Process industry background: in Chemicals R&D including 10 years in senior technical management (for Laporte plc and Solvay SA), and 6 years as technical consultant. A former director of Nimtech North West, a technology transfer agency. Appreciable knowledge of several industries, including chemicals (commodity and speciality), pharmaceuticals, detergents/ consumer products, water/ effluent, and brewing.
Recent projects include improvement of process by which technical programme decided; identification of medium-to-long-term technical threats; stimulating recognition of team achievements; development of criteria for patent filing and maintenance; integration of external and internal R&D; and practical application of portfolio analysis techniques.
