John Piper

John Piper has 20 years experience as a senior manager in the national healthcare distribution sector. This is a 'FMCG' type business - customer focussed, highly dependent on IT and also a major provider of IT systems to retail and hospital pharmacy. John has operated at board level for over 10 years. Most recently his role has been at the interface between the business and its IT provider, focussing on achieving improvements in business performance and customer service through the delivery of cost effective computer and information systems. Before this John spent many years as a senior finance manager. John trained and qualified as an accountant with one of the 'top six', specialising in computer audit.

John has always taken a holistic approach to business systems and processes, recognising that the technology is always only part of the solution and that the people are almost always the most important element. He also has experience of the growing commercial value of information within business, recognising the need for every business to have an 'information strategy' to ensure that the value of its information is understood, protected and exploited.

John's experience and personality enable him to work comfortably with people from all business functions and at all levels of seniority. He has considerable experience of building, managing and facilitating multi-disciplined teams.
